Vietnamese Home Restaurant

Vietnamese Home RestaurantThis restaurant has been around for a couple of years and has a wonderful garden setting. The relaxed atmosphere and well priced menu make it a great place to enjoy a meal out with friends or family. Vietnamese Home Restaurant could even be a great place to start a big night out as it is located quite close to two big clubs, Camel and the New Phuong Dong on Dong Da street.

Vietnamese Home is a great place to go in the early evening and a great place to try real Vietnamese food done very well. The setting amongst beautiful gardens, waterfalls, a wishing well and Cham statues is perfect for an evening meal for couples of with a few friends. Cheap beer prices, just 13,00 VND for a tiger as well as an extensive menu add the restaurants appeal.

I enjoyed the western style tuna salad, simply tuna with a little dressing mixed with lettuce leaves, delicious. The honey chicken and mi xao hai san (fried noodles with seafood), also simple dishes done well. The green banana salad and whole fish were two traditional Vietnamese favorites that stood out, I’m a big fan of the salad.

If there is one area where Vietnamese Home Restaurant is lacking it would have to be the service, unlike most Vietnamese restaurants it seemed a little understaffed. On occasion when staff were nearby they seemed reluctant to deal with a table of foreigners, when beers were ordered they took a long time to arrive at the table. Eventually we decided to order the drinks in bulk and leave them sitting on the table resulting in drinks that weren’t too cold.

Aside from this one negative point, eating at Vietnamese Home was a pleasure and something I look forward to again in the near future. Hopefully with time and more western customers service will improve and this place will become a favorite dining spot for foreigners and Vietnamese in Danang.
