Tulip Czech Beer

by InDanang on November 12, 2009

Tulip Czech BeerTulip Czech Beer Restaurant has been around for quite a few years and has a strong following from locals and expats. It is a large place with a noisy, lively atmosphere and a great place to have a drink with a few mates. As the name implies, there is freshly brewed Czech style beer here, both dark and light beer. As far as beer in Vietnam goes, there beer here is excellent, compared to real Czech or European Beer it could be called ordinary.

The beer is not the only draw for this place, there is a reasonably large menu of well done dishes at reasonable prices. Most of the dishes are Vietnamese but there are a lot of typical dishes that go well with copious amounts of beer. Grilled pork, spicy beef, German sausage and spicy chicken wings, real hearty dishes in case you are fed up with the standard rice and fish Vietnamese meal.

The beer comes in three sizes, the two glasses in the picture are medium(500ml) and small(300ml), large is 1 litre and costs about 40,000 VND, medium is 22,000 VND. Other canned beers are available and for some strnage reason, a large number of Vietnamese who come here opt to drink Heineken rather than the (in my opinion) better tasting Czech brew, it is a status thing.

Tulip Czech beer, is a great place to come with a small or large group of friends and has a very welcoming atmosphere. For many foreigners it is a place where they can feel like they aren’t in Vietnam for just a couple of hours, or until the locals get drunk enough to shouting, MOT, HAI, BA, YOH!
