While Tet is the most celebrated holiday in Vietnam, it creates a unique experience for our visiting guests. Furama Resort Danang will ensure an unforgettable Tet in Vietnam.

Continuing to play a sacred and meaningful role in today’s life, the Tet holiday is a valuable occasion for Vietnamese families to gather and/or reunite. This period evokes memories such as the well-known saying “A quid of betel and areca-nut starts the ball rolling” which is often included in a grandmother’s story to children. Tradition continues with offerings of pairs of square glutinous rice cakes to ancestors. People are still moved by the parallel sentences at Tet when thoughts of the past, present and future swarm in during the ending days of the year.

During the recent years, international tourists have been traveling to Vietnam during this period to discover for themselves the ever-vibrant celebration of Tet. Furama Resort Danang proudly celebrates this holiday with a wide variety of activities while playing host to both foreign guests and Vietnamese families who are looking for a more luxurious approach at this festive time.

THE GLAMOUR AND WARMTH OF TET AT FURAMA RESORT DANANG
From the entrance, guests will be welcomed with 500 red lanterns and 12 handmade animals representing the Chinese zodiac on cyclos and decorated with Tet flowers. Our beautiful “Spring Garden” will be outstanding with four significant trees, Tung (pine tree), Cuc (daisy), Truc (small bamboo) and Mai (apricot blossom) in a garden with peach blossom trees and a small river. The lobby will feel warm and welcoming, highlighted by the lanterns, parallel sentences and the bright colours of the flower garden ensuring a happy, luxurious and successful New Year for everyone.

The resort’s courtyard during the Lunar New Year will transport you to an ancient Vietnamese market. Drop by “Ms. Ly’s Tea Shop” and taste traditional food featured only during Tet holidays. Rural girls in traditional clothing of kerchiefs and green belts with their flowing black hair will walk by selling goods, a wizened old woman demonstrates how to make and pack square glutinous rice cakes, consult an old fortune-teller, watch a scholar writing parallel sentences and other calligraphy. There will be portrait painting and an exhibition of Dong Ho and Hang Trong folk paintings, a booth of handmade timber toys and handicrafts of conical hats, Non Nuoc stone carving, Hoi An lanterns and a demonstration of SQ embroidery paintings – a well-respected trademark known to domestic and foreign tourists alike.

“Ancient Vietnamese Market” at Furama Resort Danang will present specialties of central Vietnam such as Quang noodle “mì qu?ng”, pork rolled with pancake “bánh tráng cu?n th?t heo”, and Hoi An and Ha Noi noodles to highlight the Vietnamese culinary arts.
For additional entertainment there will be traditional Cham dancing, the haunting melodies of a shepherd playing the flute and other traditional musical performances to welcome in the New Year.
The festivities of the “Ancient Vietnamese Market” at the Furama Resort Danang will take place over three days from 10 to 12 February 2010 (27th, 28th and 29th days of the Lunar New Year).

FEAST AND WELCOME IN THE NEW YEAR
The Furama Resort Danang will host delicious buffet parties at our signature Café Indochine on the last and first days of the Lunar New Year.
