InDanang.com Is Back!

First of all, sorry for the shutdown of this website. I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to sort out the problem and it is finally done. Now that the website is up and running again I will let you know that there will be a few changes.

For the last 2 or 3 months I have not contributed too much to the site, there are only so many restaurants and cafes I can review before I get bored. So I am moving away from just being a review and recommend website. I am planning to write more general blog posts and articles about living, working and travelling in Vietnam.

As usual, I would like your help and your contributions. If you have any interesting stories to tell please share with the InDanang community.

Of course I will still be featuring restaurant reviews and event promotions. InDanang.com is the place to come to find out what is new and going on in Danang and Hoi An. On that note I would also like to include more information and reviews for the expat community in Hoi An.

Phatties Bar In Hoi An

Phatties is open! The coolest bar in Hoi An has reopened for 2010 after a brief closure due to damage from Typhoon Ketsana. I can’t think of a better spot to chill out, have a beer, go for a swim and have a chat with expats.

Run by Ian and Josh, this place is the perfect place for lazy afternoons and boozy evenings. Phatties is very popular among Danang’s and Hoi An’s expat communities. Now only 35 minutes from Danang due to the road upgrades it is easily accessible and only 10 minutes from Hoi An.

Giving Away 3 Young Kittens

They are just over 2 months old, very cute and playful, people friendly, and looking for a good home. We would prefer to give them away to a family with a garden, and it would be great to give the 3 kittens away together.

We found them around Typhoon Katsana, and they are a loving and bonded bunch. They are in good health (one of us is a veterinarian). Unfortunately we cannot keep them much longer. If you are interested, please contact:

Danang – Hong Kong Direct Flights

Vietnam Airlines and Vitour have announced more direct flights: Danang – Hong Kong – Danang in time for the Christmas travel season. These newly announced charter flights are cooperative effort between Vietnam Airlines and Vitour entice visitors to tourist sites near Hong Kong such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Macau to visit Disneyland and to shop in time for Christmas 2009.

These new charter flights which will depart on December 23rd and return on the 27th follow on from a successful charter operation in September and will hopefully become a regular scheduled flight between Danang and Hong Kong. The December flights are part of a fare package priced from $589 USD to $689 USD per person. There are also plans for Danang to Japan charter flights which will also become regular flights in 2010.
