Seventeen Saloon originated in Saigon but this location in Da Nang is quite nice. The bar/live band music place is located on the Han’s River of Da Nang, very romantic at night.
I visited this place every night and have a few drinks before heading out and exploring the town. The staff are very friendly and very fun to talk with. If I can recall correctly, I went there 2 weeks in a row every night to enjoy their live music.
They have Philippine singers and sometimes the English is quite hard to understand, but you’ll know the song once they hit the chorus. The singers try to switch up songs every night, but most of the time they repeat themselves if there is no request. They can pretty much sing any oldies song from the 80s to 90s.
Domestic beer such as Corona and Coors Light (taste like water in my opinion) are quite pricey. They are priced about 75,000 VND,roughly 5 dollars. It’s a dollar cheaper there than here in Dallas, Texas. There is bottle services also, meaning you can buy the whole bottle of liquor for yourself to drink instead of buying by the glass. Prices for bottle liquor is quite cheaper than most bar/club in down town Da Nang.
There are food option also, so if you get a little hungry after all that drinking. Food like calamari, fruit plates, spaghetti, and many more.
The funny thing I like about this bar is that when your order french fries, don’t expect them to have ketchup, in replacement they will give you hot sauce. If you become a regular at this bar, they will start to give you some freebies such as small food appetizer. The bar inside is not like a club, there is no loud thumping music. They host special events on holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and etc. I would recommend this place for a group of people who wants to listen to English live music, since there isn’t much of a choice in Da Nang. Also the best time to go at night is around 10PM, because it get pack by then.
Ask for Thuy if you want to talk to someone with a bit of English knowledge. She’s the manager of the bar. Tell her Hieu from the US said hi!

Just an update: the prices of these drinks have gone up drastically. With the economy and high value of US dollars, they have changed their menu price..from what I notice this year…it was up 10-20% of the regular price from last year.
Thanks for the update Hieu. Prices typically go up after TET expect the same again in Feb 2011.
The current band is great! They can sing modern songs ( lady gaga etc)
I have to see this myself! haha
@ measia: Thanks for the comment. Is the band all Filippino? What other type of music do they sing? Lady Gaga and ….
@ Hieu: When will you be back to check out the new band and update your review?
