Pacific Hotel Danang

Pacific Hotel DanangPacific Hotel Danang, a magnificent and properly located hotel in the heart of down town Da Nang. I was introduced to this hotel by a friend, I asked my friend, where is the best hotel that is near a bar or coffee shop, he immediately told me to stay at the Pacific Hotel Danang.

The hotel is on the same block as New Life 2 Café, one of Da Nang’s busiest coffee shops. You would think that being in the downtown area, the street would be full of noise, but to my surprise, it was quite quiet. The prices are quite average for downtown location. I managed to stay there for 7 days in one of their suite rooms for less than 55 USD a night.

They advertise 60+ USD, but you can try to bargain with them if you are staying for an extended time. Of course if you think $55 is expensive, then there are plenty of other hotels outside of downtown for dirt cheap. Or you can opt for their standard room which is around 35 USD, maybe you can bargain it down.

Front desk clerks are courteous and the night security guard was quite nice. I woke him up many times because I usually leave the hotel early but don’t come back till 12 am or so. Just remember to be courteous to tip them for the inconvenience. As for the room, it was cleaned daily by their house keepers. The showers are good, enough water pressure to get rid of the sweat I accumulate throughout the day exploring Da Nang.

There’s cable TV with English channels, but I didn’t care much for the TV since I’m on vacation. The A/C was like heaven in the blistering heat of Da Nang’s city. Bed were comfortable to sleep in, sheets were clean. No compliants there from me.

There is a Highland Coffee Shop, which is a version of Starbucks Coffee, in my opinion; located nearby the hotel and takes about a good 10-15 minutes walk. You can find local food vendors around the area also. If you don’t mind walking, there are a few shops that sell “bo ne”, which is fresh beef and eggs, mix in with soy sauce. It comes to your table sizzling hot and along with some “banh my”. Its one street away from Pacific Hotel and the street that the food vendors are on is Nguyen Chi Thanh.

The hotel does have a bar/restaurant, but I don’t know much about it since I rarely frequented it. Overall, I like this hotel because its near things I want to do…and being in the center of the city is not bad.

Also, there is a new night club near the Opera house, I forgot the name of it, but its also on Nguyen Chi Thanh road.
I would recommend it to any travelers who is looking for comfort and a helpful staff, with the connivance of being nearby many restaurants and attractions.
