The Life Resort Danang’s restaurant Senses has a fantastic bakery that is busy creating a fantastic range of bread, cakes and pastries. As it is the Christmas season they are busy working on some gingerbread creations, see a photo of their giant Gingerbread pagoda here.
Life Resort Danang has just spent the last 2 months upgrading their bakery and pizza to a true Italian standard. Master baker Anders Olesen spent most of October at Life Da Nang passing on his knowledge and skills about natural artisan sourdough bread baking.
Sourdough is a centuries-old form of natural leavening – it is a live culture made from natural wheat flour, natural rye flour and wild yeasts from honey. It is cultured and kept ‘alive’ and used in place of yeast for a superior texture and taste in European style breads and pizza dough.
Specialties of the house made with sourdough include a traditional style wheat and rye baguette – it has a superior crust and a memorable taste and features on Senses restaurant’s daily breakfast and in most banquets.
Ciabatta is another runaway success with the new sourdough – moist, soft, delicious Italian bread with large holes and an incomparable texture, made by the traditional method without artificial additives. It is also used daily on the breakfast menu and there is also a new selection of sandwiches on the lunch menu made exclusively with our new ciabatta.
