This budget friendly Chinese Restaurant located in the heart of Danang started as a little food stall literally on the street and is now a two story fully serviced restaurant with a large Vietnamese and foreign following. It is a small, clean and well run place with both a Vietnamese and English menu, yes, the prices are the same on both menus. The food and the service are both basic making this place a great stop for a quick and tasty meal.
The thing that stands out about Kim Dy Chinese Restaurant is the speed, it is Vietnam’s version of a fast food restaurant. I usually have part of my order within 1 or 2 minutes, the food is always hot and dishes are usually served in the order that I order them. Lotteria could learn a lesson or two from Kim Dy about how provide “fast” food to its customers.
The menu is quite large with a host of familiar dishes, no doubt that chicken rice or roasted duck with rice are the two specialties and the two most ordered dishes here. Prices are very decent, I usually get a soup, a main dish and drink for under 60,000 VND and the servings are big enough to fill me up.
Kim Dy Chinese Restaurant in Danang is great place to come for a quick bite before work or before heading to the train station or airport before a journey. As is the case with most Vietnamese restaurants they will pack any food for take-away orders, even a whole roasted chicken!
