Huong Nam Bakery Danang

Huong Nam Bakery DanangHuong Nam Bakery Danang is in my humble opinion the best place to get bread, both rolls or sliced loaves, that resembles bread from back home. Huong Nam Bakery is not a very big place and they don’t have a huge variety of things to choose from but what they do bake they do quite well. This place has a very large and loyal Vietnamese customer base and I think it deserves the attention of foreigners in Vietnam looking for decent and not so sweet bread.

As I am sure that anyone in Vietnam is aware that most Vietnamese bread is quite sweet and different from the bread we are used to back home, it is usually the case that the only place to get decent bread is from foreign owned or run restaurants which can be quite expensive and quite inaccessible for expats in Danang. Huong Nam Bakery in Danang has very fresh, soft a tasty sliced bread available for only 8,000 VND a loaf, but you have to be quick, most loaves are gone before 11.00am.

This bakery also has typical Vietnamese cakes and buns, sweet bread and cream cakes. They make birthday and wedding cakes and are very reasonably priced, all prices are set and it seems to me at least that foreigners are treated fairly.

not very related to bread but another place that does excellent birthday or wedding cakes in my opinion is this shop called Khanh Hoa on Hoang Van Thu street. they just opened a street-front shop so it’s more accessible than before.
